Apple India is seeking a Software Development Engineer with strong expertise in PostgreSQL and database development. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing large-scale database applications, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, and ensuring high performance and reliability across Apple’s systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test high-performance database applications using PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, plan, and prioritize project requirements.
• Develop scalable and efficient database code and implement improvements for performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database performance or functionality issues.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to coding best practices.
• Stay updated with industry trends, new PostgreSQL features, and database technology advancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database design, modeling, and development.
• Experience with performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
• Proficiency in SQL & database development practices.
• Experience working with Git and agile development methodologies.
• Good communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
• Experience in Java, Python, C++, or related languages is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience with NoSQL, data warehousing, or distributed systems.
• Knowledge of cloud database environments.
• Experience contributing to open-source PostgreSQL projects.
