JEE Main 2026 – Complete Overview

National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting JEE Main 2026 in two sessions for admission to B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning programmes in NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions and participating colleges.

Session 1 of JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in January 2026, with city intimation slip and admit card released before the exam dates.

JEE Main 2026 session 1 will be held in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) and Paper 2B (B.Planning), while Paper 2A (B.Arch) will have online maths/aptitude and offline drawing components.

JEE Main 2026 City Intimation Slip Release

NTA will release the city intimation slip for JEE Main 2026 session 1 in the first week of January 2026 on the official portal jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The city slip will inform candidates of their allotted exam city for session 1. Exact exam centre and shift details will be mentioned on the admit card, which will be released after the city slip.

Candidates can download the city intimation slip by logging in with their application number and date of birth on the NTA website.

Photo Verification Deadline Extended

Admit Card & Exam Centre Details

The JEE Main 2026 session 1 admit card will be released after the city intimation slip. It will contain the candidate’s photo, exam date, shift, exam centre address and instructions for the exam day.

  • Admit card must be downloaded from jeemain.nta.nic.in using application number and date of birth.
  • Carry the admit card and a valid photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, etc.) to the exam centre.
  • Follow all exam day instructions mentioned on the admit card.
Admit card is mandatory for entry to the exam centre. No candidate will be allowed to appear for the exam without a valid admit card.
