Application Process (Online Only)
- Visit the official NTA JEE Main website: jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Click on JEE (Main) 2026: Register/Login and complete registration using a valid ID and mobile/email.
- Fill personal, academic and contact details, and choose exam cities and sessions.
- Upload scanned photograph, signature and category/PwD certificates as per size and format.
- Pay the application fee online via credit/debit card, net banking or UPI.
- Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.

Only one application per candidate is allowed; multiple forms can lead to cancellation. Corrections are possible only within the official correction window.
JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifying exam: Class 12/equivalent passed in 2024 or 2025, or appearing in 2026.
- Age limit: No upper age limit by NTA; institutes may have their own age norms.
- Number of attempts: No fixed attempt limit; candidates can appear in both sessions in an academic year.
- Nationality: Indian nationals and international candidates (as per AIU norms) are eligible.
- Subject combination:
- B.E./B.Tech: Physics & Mathematics + one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical vocational subject.
- B.Arch: Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
- B.Plan: Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
- For NITs/IIITs/CFTIs via CSAB: 75% (65% for SC/ST) in Class 12 or top 20 percentile rule applies.

Common Features
- Mode: CBT for all papers; drawing section of Paper 2A in pen-and-paper mode.
- Duration: 3 hours for a single paper; 3 hours 30 minutes when both 2A & 2B are attempted.
- Medium: 13 languages including English, Hindi and various regional languages.
- Marking scheme: +4 for correct answer; −1 for incorrect MCQ; no negative marking for some numerical questions (as per official notice).
