What is JEXPO Exam (Now)?

The West Bengal State Council earlier conducted the JEXPO entrance exam for admission to first‑year diploma courses in Engineering, Technology and Architecture. That offline exam has now been discontinued.

From 2025–26, admission to first‑year polytechnic/diploma courses in West Bengal is done via a centralised merit list of Class 10 marks for all registered candidates, followed by online counselling and seat allotment.

JEXPO 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the basic conditions prescribed by the council before filling the JEXPO 2026 form.

Basic Eligibility (as per latest pattern)

  • Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Age limit: No upper age limit. For 2026 admission, the candidate’s date of birth should not be after 01 July 2010 (exact cutoff to be confirmed in official brochure).
  • Educational Qualification: Passed or appearing in Class 10 (Madhyamik or equivalent) with Science/Physical Science and Mathematics from a recognised Board/Council/Institute.
  • Minimum marks: At least 35% aggregate in Class 10 (overall or as specified – typically including English, Physical Science/Science and Mathematics).
Final eligibility for JEXPO 2026 will be confirmed in the official notification; students should carefully verify DOB limit, subject requirements and minimum marks before applying.

JEXPO 2026 Merit List & Result

The council will release JEXPO 2026 result in the form of an online merit list on the official website.

Key Points

  • Merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam (Class 10), as per rules notified by the council.
  • The merit list PDF carries candidate details and rank; candidates may also get an individual rank card via login using enrolment/application number.
  • In case of tie (same marks), a tie‑breaking formula is applied (for example, higher marks in Mathematics/Science or older age, etc., as per official rules).
  • Candidates whose names appear in the merit list can take part in online counselling, choice filling and seat allotment for polytechnic institutes.
No hard copy of rank card is sent by post; all result and merit list information is provided online only.
