Job Overview

PhonePe is offering an exciting opportunity for Site Reliability Engineer – Interns at its Bangalore location. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about Linux systems, networking, cloud services, and automation tools. Interns will gain hands-on exposure to building and maintaining large-scale, always-available services that support one of India’s most widely used digital payment platforms.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting activities.
• Work on networking tasks, including IP, iptables, and IPsec configurations.
• Gain exposure to cloud services, open-source tools, and automation practices.
• Support MySQL operations and contribute to database management tasks.
• Collaborate on coding and scripting assignments (Perl or Golang preferred).
• Implement and enhance automation/configuration management using SaltStack or equivalent tools.
• Contribute to maintaining uptime and reliability of PhonePe’s services.

Eligibility Criteria

Required Skills

• Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
• Understanding of networking concepts and Linux networking tools (IP, iptables, IPsec).
• Hands-on experience with MySQL databases.
• Familiarity with scripting/coding languages (Perl or Golang preferred).
• Experience with automation/configuration management (SaltStack or equivalent).
• Knowledge of cloud services, open-source technologies, and IT best practices.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Implementation of cloud services on Linux using KVM/QEMU.
• Understanding of DCOS (Mesos & Mesos frameworks).
• Experience with Aerospike (NoSQL), Galera clusters, or OpenBSD.
• Exposure to data center operations and related activities.
