Job Description

The Application Engineer 1 is primarily responsible for Vulnerability Management and Patch Management. You will act as a bridge between technical teams and application owners to ensure that all server environments remain secure and up-to-date.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patch Management: Planning, scheduling, and executing OS patching across Windows, UNIX, and RH Linux environments.
  • Vulnerability Remediation: Managing vulnerabilities identified through Kenna via Qualys scan results to ensure server security.
  • Middleware Support: Managing upgrades for WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, and Java, along with handling SSL certificate renewals.
  • System Cleanup: Cleaning up application servers and assisting app teams with SSL issues or server-side configurations.
  • Collaboration: Working with vendors and multiple internal teams to resolve patching issues and reporting findings to leadership.
  • On-Call Support: You may be required to provide on-call support or extend work hours during critical patching windows.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in IT, Computer Science, or Statistics).
  • Experience: 0 to 3 years of experience. Freshers with strong project experience in programming languages or frameworks are welcome.
  • Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile, Iterative, or Waterfall project practices.
  • Preferred Tools: Experience with configuration intelligence or monitoring platforms like Dynatrace, New Relic, Splunk ITSI, BMC Helix, or ServiceNow is a significant advantage.
  • Communication: Exceptional follow-up and collaboration skills are essential for this role.
