Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, servers, and peripheral devices.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures and replace or repair faulty components (HDD/SSD, RAM, motherboards, power supplies, etc.).
• Perform routine system diagnostics, firmware and driver updates, and preventive maintenance.
• Support basic network device troubleshooting (switches, routers, Wi-Fi access points) in coordination with network team.
• Maintain accurate hardware asset inventory and documentation (serial numbers, warranties, spares).
• Organize and secure storage for spare parts and consumables; ensure readiness for quick repairs.
• Collaborate with the IT support team to resolve end-user hardware problems and escalate complex issues when needed.
• Assist in server room housekeeping and basic server-level hardware checks as required.

Eligibility & Qualifications

• Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field (preferred).
• Prior hands-on experience with PC/laptop repairs, server hardware, and peripherals is preferred.
• Familiarity with Windows OS troubleshooting and basic Linux command-line will be an advantage.
• Comfortable working on-site with ability to lift/handle hardware components safely.
• Good documentation habits and basic knowledge of inventory management.

Required Skills

• Hands-on knowledge of PC/laptop assembly, diagnostics, and component-level replacement.
• Basic understanding of server hardware, RAID basics, and storage devices.
• Ability to use common diagnostic tools (multimeter, POST cards, external HDD enclosures, bootable USB tools).
• Familiarity with printer setup and maintenance (inkjet/laser), and basic network connectivity checks.
• Good communication skills for helping non-technical users and maintaining clear logs.
• Organized, reliable, and punctual with a customer-service attitude.

Compensation

The monthly compensation for this role is ₹15,000 – ₹18,000. Compensation may vary slightly depending on experience and fit. The role is full-time and in-person at the Jadavpur office.
